 | Actually taking insurance is a good bet because It pays 2 to 1 it can be used to give the counter an opportunity to keep their money but the deal gets black jack 7/10 times.  | I disagree with "SAYING" surrender...The professionals that I've seen, just do the signal....it is on the dealer to know what that means, because if they play the hand without taking half the bet (as if you signaled Stand and not Surrender), you can object, to which they go to the cameras and they will confirm you surrendered the bet, and typically they will call the hand DEAD which means you get your full bet back instead of losing all or half of it because the dealer made a mistake.  | This game shouldn't be called 21, or blackjack, it should be called Who Busts First? If you bust first, the house takes your bet immediately. If the dealer busts, the house pays everyone who has 21 or less. It doesn't matter what you have as long as you still have a hand. 12 is the same thing as hitting a 21 if the dealer busts. This is why you stay if you have more than 11 and the dealer is showing a 6 or less. I can make a strong case for not hitting against a 7 showing if you have more than 11 because the dealer must have a ten or an ace under to have a made hand. The card that makes your 21 might be the card that would have busted the dealer. If the dealer also makes 21 you push, or break even. Everyone might have won if you did not hit.
